Dr. Kent Kern
Kent Kern grew up near Akron, OH. Upon graduating from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Education Degree Kent moved to New York City and taught high school in the South Bronx. While teaching in the inner city he became absolutely convinced of God’s call to full-time ministry and therefore the need to become prepared. Kent moved to Virginia Beach, VA to study at Tabernacle Baptist Seminary, where he earned a Masters in Religious Education. Over the next four years, Pastor Kent served as an Associate Pastor as well as earning his Doctorate of Ministry Degree. Kent’s last ten years have been spent serving as Senior Pastor, church leader and counselor in Warren, OH. Kent and his wife Kristine served as licensed foster parents for a decade and as an emergency placement home for children in need of immediate care. They have adopted six children (Kaleb, Kyle, Korey, Kolby, Kara-Anne, and Katelyn) and given them a “forever family”. Kent’s two personal past times are fitness training and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes Football. One favorite quote of Kent’s is “If you want something you have never had, do something you have never done.”
